Meet Our Founder, Yaz
Hello, I’m Yaz!
I’m a poet and photographer from Dallas, TX — born and raised, shaped by Mexican and Southern traditions, and deeply rooted in community.
I’m also the oldest of eleven, which means I’ve spent much of my life holding space for others — and learning, slowly, how to hold space for myself too.
Cartas & Care Club began as a way to share what has sustained me: writing, creating, and quiet moments of care. Each month, I send thoughtfully curated envelopes — filled with paper goods containing poems, photographs, and reflections — as an invitation to pause, take a breath, and come back to yourself.
My hope is that with every letter, you’re reminded that you are not alone— that you matter — and that somewhere out there, someone else is unfolding the same envelope, sitting with the same words, and finding their way home too.
One carta at a time.
